Elk Island Retreat is a beautiful serene private campground and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Whether a world traveler or living local you'll want to check out this little hide-away. A variety of camping opportunities are offered from comfort camping (glamping) in yurts, to a more rustic camping experience in trapper cabins or a tipi. There is also traditional tent camping and full service RV sites. Domes are in the future plans so watch for updates. There is a coin operated shower and laundry facility on site.

Between relaxing at your site, be sure to walk the nature trails and explore the natural beauty that surrounds you. There's a volleyball / badminton net and a couple sets of horseshoe pits on site as well as a grassy clearing where you can toss a frisbee or football or play your favourite game.

Being located next door to Elk Island National Park makes it just a hop, skip and jump away to where you can spend the day hiking, canoeing, and seeing the bison and other wildlife. The Ukrainian Cultural Village is only a half hour drive from us and Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, and Edmonton are all within a reasonable driving distance. Fort Saskatchewan is 20 minutes away and has everything you need. Check out the Fort Heritage Precinct, a replica of the original RCMP Fort, and all the history surrounding the Fort on the North Saskatchewan. Very cool. Fort Saskatchewan also has miles of beautiful walking / biking trails. Take a trip into Edmonton - nicknamed the festival city - and take in a festival or see some of the major attractions but then return to the privacy of your site to unwind by the campfire, away from crowds and noise.
